Remote Controller and Librarian Software

Front Pack (5k)
Overview This Mac software was launched by E-mu Systems at the same time as the EIIIx range. It provides total remote control of all the front panel functions of one or more EIIIx's, plus a librarian facility to catalogue (and audition from disk) all your samples on hard disks and removable disks attached to your EIIIx. Very handy !

The EIIIx Remote Controller and Librarian software was a development of the Mac software that had been produced for the Emulator III. Bob Bliss, who joined E-mu in 1986,  wrote the software. The launch price was £280 (part number 6107). The software communicates with the EIIIx via the IN and OUT MIDI interfaces, preferably on a dedicated basis.

 Which Mac?

The software requires an Apple Mac with a 1MHz MIDI communication interface and at least 128k bytes of RAM.

It will not work on the more recent PowerMacs, so you will need an original Mac II or ideally the faster and later Quadras.

The Mac OS needs to be 4.2 or higher, and we suggest the EIII be at OS 2.4 or higher.
