Introduction
Professionally manufactured PCB's are available for sale from this web site to enable you to build Analog Metropolis synthesizer modules that replicate classic
designs from the 1970's, including; E-mu Systems, ARP, Oberheim and SCI. They are designed to be used in modern analog modular synthesizer systems. The PCB's can be
easily mounted to a front panel using pot brackets (spaced at 40mm), or holes can be drilled in the PCB to use PCB spacers. The PCB's use the MOTM standard 4-pin Molex
+/-15V power connector. The PCB's are suited to Synth DIYers with some experience of electronics and building modules.
RoHS compliant PCB's are ordered for customers on demand, although sometimes they are in stock. Orders usally take 2 - 3 weeks
. Payment is accepted via PayPal and prices include air mail shipping anywhere and the inevitable PayPal fees.
Please email me if you are interesting in making a purchase, as I like to discuss your
requirements before an order is placed so we get it perfect for you. We can also supply hard to find parts (Tempco's, chips, control knobs).
Bare PCB This is exactly what you would expect. A newly manufactured double sided
PCB with solder mask and component lettering with no components fitted. PCB's are typically 80x100mm or 100x125mm in size. You will need to find and buy all the
components to build the module, they are listed in the Project Notes which can be downloaded from this web site.
Populated PCB This is a PCB that has all the PCB based components fitted, including:
- 1% metal film resistors
- Modern manufactured PT146 Tempco resistors
- 20 turn cermet trimmers
- Turned pin IC sockets
- Low drift Op Amps and rare chips - except SSM and CEM - sorry!
- High quality capacitors - 1% polystyrene, WIMA polyester, Panasonic electrolytics
- Molex power connector - MOTM style
The modules are fully tested and have an initial trimmer setting. The kit excludes any
front panel mounted hardware such as potentiometers, switches and jack sockets, as customers usually like to use their own. The wiring needed for attaching pots and
switches and jacks is NOT included but pot brackets are included to enable the PCB to be mounted to a front panel using 1/4" or 1/8" shaft Spectrol 248 pots.
Lead time is typically 4 - 5 weeks
depending on how many modules I am building for customers.
