AM3000 Series Analog Synthesizer Modules
Inspired by SCI, Oberheim and the talents of Doug Curtis

Overview The AM 3000 Modules are based on CEM chips that were widely used by Sequential Circuits (SCI) and Oberheim in the early 1980's. Doug Curtis was the talented electronics engineer who designed this chips, and they quickly revolutionised the synthesizer market place, leading to a swarm of polyphonic synthesizers from the Prophet 5 to the OB8 and Expander. Until the DX7 caught up with them in 1983-85. The coampnies eventually went under, but the analog products they manufactured are much sort after even today,

Why use rare CEM chips in Modules? Well I have quite a few lying around which I would like to use, they create some really good sounds and I don't have room for monster poly synths. In fact quite a few people have CEM chips in their stores, and some are still for sale on eBay, such as the CEM372. So let's make good use of them!

But better still they work well with AnalogDNA technology, so that patches can be stored - so future R&D is aimed at adding LCD and programmability for modules.
