An Introduction
Welcome ! The Emulator Archive web site has been created to enable you to easily select the area of information that you want to access. The site is split into Zones:
Specific model information is held within Zone, and all models manufactured by E-mu Systems since
1972 are represented in considerable detail. You can select a model directly from the drop down menu on every web page or choose a Zone and read the overview before selecting a specific model.
Site Content
You will find lots of information on the E-mu Systems products, as well as MP3 product demo's. We have details on how to carry out basic restoration on early products - see the repairs section.
Customer Support
I no longer sell spares, and work on EPROM and PAL chip replacements has been suspended. I cannot answer every email, so you may not get a response. I do try and help Drumulator, SP-12, Emulator I, II, III and Emax users as much as possible. I can supply OS diskettes for US$15.00 and free Boot ROM binary images for these early products.
Relationship with E-mu Systems
The Emulator Archive has developed a close working relationship with E-mu Systems and I know many of the key people both past and present. The current E-mu Systems President Don Scott and the Chief Scientist at Creative - Dave Rossum, have been very supportive of the project. Long standing Emuons such as Ed Rudnick and Riley Smith have helped alot with locating and sharing invaluable archive information. We are not affiliated with E-mu Systems and we cannot communicate on behalf of E-mu, so we do not have knowledge of future product development plans.
Audio Product Demonstrations Overview This web site has a variety of audio demonstrations of the how the samplers and modules sound. They
are available as MP3 downloads.
MP3 You need a MP3 player, such as Winamp to play these downloads. They are often encoded as 44.1kHz stereo files at a 128k bit rate.
