Emulator IIIX: Sample Library

Sound Libraries  The EIIIx shipped with one factory CDROM with a nice range of samples from E-mu Systems, Invision, Q Up Arts, Northstar and Creative Sound Design. Most of the 480MB of samples could also be used on the EIII.

Factory CDROM While every sample included on this CDROM is Emulator III compatible, four banks have been designed for use exclusively on EIIIx units. These banks are denoted with an "X" next to the bank name on your units display, and are either greater than 8 MB or contain more than 99 sample or presets (excluding it from use on standard EIII units). 32 MB banks will take about 3.5 minutes to load from a CDROM.

Sound effects and select percussion banks will have samples mapped to white keys startying at C1. Volume curves can have a dramatic effect on how presets sound. These sounds were set up using Volume Curve 0. To check your Volume curve...select Master.. .select Special from the Master menu and select 8 from the Special menu.

In addition to a large variety of sound banks, this disk also includes a variety of demonstration banks from Northstar Productions starting at Bank 60. These "demos" feature sounds available from Northstar (but not included on this disc). Typically a different demo sequence is available in each octave. Additionally Q Up Arts have provided a music sample of the Denny Jaeger Violin Library at Bank 47.
