AM0908 - Oakley Sample & Hold

Overview This module is a standard Oakley Sample & Hold with some minor changes to suit my AM modular synthesizer. The module was commissioned on 26th December 2003.

Circuit The Oakley design has a standard sample and hold circuit based on the LM398, then Tony added some cool features such as slew and restriction. For the full explanation go to Tony's excellent web site.

Build The standard Oakley PCB was easy to populate and it was mounted onto the front panel using the usual ECO solder pot brackets, spaced at 41 mm (close to the 1.625" MOTM standard that Tony uses). The PCB is quite small and fits easily into the 4U format. There are no trimmers to adjust.

Panel The front panel  is a standard AM design, 90mm wide and 4U high, with black lettering. Controls knobs are standard E
µ Modular designs. One mistake was to forget to update the module number - so it says AM0903...dooh!

Modifications The 90mm panel only has room for 4 sockets, so I have eliminated 2 from the standard Oakley module, and renamed them to make it less esoteric. There is a signal input and output, and clock inputs (rise and fall). The clock LED is a frosted blue LED, and the output LED is suppose to be a bi-colour item but I don't like the weedy colours these produce, so its currently a HE blue one. One day I will find some cool bi-colour 2 lead LED's.
